Modular Buildings:
Energy Efficient, “Green”, and Cost Effective
Thinking about building a new home or adding on to your existing home this year? Consider building with modular construction.
With the recent buzz over building green in recent years, modular construction has been receiving a newfound recognition as the original green building.
Modular homes are manufactured in sections in a climate controlled factory and assembled on site. By being built indoors in a controlled manufacturing environment, they have always used less material, generated less waste, and are more air tight. With advances in computer design and manufacturing, the old stigma of boxy flimsy homes with vinyl siding is no longer true.
Today, you are able to view your plans, renderings, pick your fixtures and help design your own dream home. Architectural styles can vary from traditional to contemporary, if you can dream it they can build it!
With no weather delays, unreliable subcontractors or material hold-ups, costs for building are less. A modular project can typically cost between 5-10% less than a conventional “stick-built” building. Typically, the modular is being built simultaneously to the site improvements on your land, and are delivered 70-80% complete.
This will greatly reduce construction time, and shorter construction time yields additional savings! ENERGY STAR certification and LEED credits are the norm for today’s modular buildings. They easily meet and can surpass the “green” standards. Choose higher standards, more efficient construction, more strict construction standards and a more competitive price.
