Q: “Do you encourage people to follow you in the social media environment?”
A: “Yes. I have three pages on Facebook:
facebook.com/redmango focuses on the Red Mango brand.
facebook.com/dankimredmango is geared towards what I do for the company - it is personality driven. I use it to communicate with people about store openings or about their good or bad brand experiences.
Facebook.com/frozenyogurt is used for branding purposes and includes things that are of personal interest to me.”

Q: “What was the driving force for re-designing
your website?”
A: “We made the change this year in response to what I felt was a shift in the way people navigate and engage with websites. Our old site was heavy with animation and graphics. Now, it is simple, easy to navigate and works on multiple platforms.”

Q: “How have you used technology to build your loyalty program?”
A: “Technology has been critical to that program. Our program allows us to understand who they are and what they buy. The system allows us to load coupons on a card which keeps the customer from having to print them out, making it a much more personal experience. This is only possible with technology.”

Dan Kim on Delivering an INCREDIBLE 
Customer Experience using Social Media and Technology

I had the EXTREME pleasure of interviewing Dan Kim, Founder and Chief Concept Officer of Red Mango®, Inc., to learn how his company delivers an incredible customer experience. 

A social media policy and best practices guide is prepared for each franchisee owner to ensure the Red Mango brand image and personality is consistent. They are encouraged to use social media for branding, to help their fans feel connected, to engage in conversation, etc. Samantha Goldsmith, Red Mango Franchisee Long Island, NY, said, “We want our customers to know we value their opinion and listen to them. We put polls on Facebook and make it fun for them and see what they like as a result.”
